Little by little, in both front and back, we are chipping away at the "turf" and expanding our various beds. This photo was taken in May 2007, and the bed is now grown in with firebush (of course) and some volunteer wild coffee. It's mulched in and looking nice.
We should be all done with the turf-cutting job right about in time to move somewheres else!
The old house color is plainly visible in this photo.
Man, was it ever due for a change. A "peach" house. For me? Naw. Everybody's house around here is a variation on this MeditPastello theme - peach, easy pink, custardy yellows. That's not for us.

Are you moving? I know of some free land in western Kansas.
Hm. I should have been more clear, Pablo. I mean we'll be done with ALL of the turf eradication/new bed creation/etc just in time to move and start over somewheres else!
Sorry 'bout that.
Western Kansas sounds grand.
